UNFCCC SB62 | Bonn Climate Change Conference

This past June, I had the honor of participating as an observer at the 62nd session of the Subsidiary Bodies under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Bonn, Germany, thanks to the invitation from Ruta Azul, the Global Leaders for the Future program, and the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Beyond witnessing firsthand the dynamics of international climate diplomacy, I engaged in a wide range of sessions addressing climate change and related global challenges, with one of the most meaningful moments being the opportunity to voice our position as Mexican students in the face of the climate crisis—emphasizing the need for fair climate finance and stronger youth inclusion in global decision-making processes. This experience provided me with a powerful perspective on how international climate governance operates and reinforced the urgency of bringing grassroots voices to global platforms.
