Investigation | Unequal distribution of resources in the agricultural workfields of Michoacán

This investigation analyzes unequal resource distribution in Michoacán's agriculture, focusing on the struggle between multinational corporations and small-scale farmers. It examines how large enterprises' concentration of assets and technology creates a rural technological lag, driving soil degradation and food insecurity in marginalized communities. Tracing this inequality from the post-revolutionary era to the present, it reveals the systemic weakening of small-scale agriculture in favor of large producers and the cycles of political and economic exclusion that sustain underdevelopment. The study proposes leverage points, such as democratizing precision technology and implementing agroecology programs, to foster equity and sustainability.
